lazy-lazarus:

I dream of asking my boss to put up a sign in our sandwich shop that asks our customers to leave halves of sandwiches that they don’t finish or anything else, with us, so we can give them to homeless people when we close in the evening.  i don’t know if that’s a bad idea. i’ve done it many times. i NEVER throw away half sandwiches. the last time half a caprese was left, i set it on the tables outside with a note that said “i was leftover. eat me, i’m free.” i actually got to see the guy that picked it up and he was definitely homeless and extremely excited. my customers are business owners, lawyers, judges, and then some, and they don’t mind throwing away half of a ten dollar sandwich. might as well give it to people that could obviously never afford our food therefore not cutting out any of our clientele. does this make sense?!?!?!!?! would it be a good proposal? my boss is really open-minded and progressive in ways sooooooooooooooooooooooo there’s that.

I really wish more people thought like you do. It’s a freaking awesome idea.
